As the penultimate release in our 2020 schedule, Full Spectrum Records and New Computer Girls Ltd presents a split release boasting new collaborative works from Wind Tide and the elegant combination of more eaze and claire rousay. We haven’t released a split since way back in 2009, when Andrew Weathers and Noose of Laurels went head-to-head on FS005; but these long-form zoners function so well as a pairing, we couldn’t bring ourselves to tear them apart.
“She’s Literally Fine” occupies the a-side, highlighting the growing collaboration between Full Spectrum alum Mari Maurice’s more eaze project and claire rousay, who has been steadily kicking out the jams from her San Antonio, TX studio this year. This piece was born out of the pair’s mutual obsession with TikTok, taking its title from a video supercut of drunk girls falling over whilst their friends insist they are “fine” and can keep the party rolling. Over the course of its 14-minute run-time, the composition counterbalances musique concrete techniques with environmental recordings and syrupy ambient pop forms, obscuring the seams between their unique creative processes and appearing as a unified voice.
On the flip – we are pleased to present a new work from Wind Tide, which follows on from the duo’s recent release for our Llano Discs sub-imprint, ‘Plays Wind Tide.’ Wind Tide is a new collaborative vehicle for Andrew Weathers and Gretchen Korsmo focusing on notions of place, recursive acoustics and architecture. To create “Room Tone Piece,” the duo recorded short percussive sounds in a variety of locations around their house / studio, also named Wind Tide, and layered them into a dense tapestry of recontextualized resonance. Features the dulcet tones of bubble wrap, claves, tape noise, dropped glass beads and more.

this is a stunning release. so easy to be absorbed by the atmospheres of these recordings. beyond a simple capturing of these spaces, the mixing of different sonic elements lifts them to new emotional heights; a careful assemblage of environments that remain in your head and heart. ethan vaniderstine
A personal, effective work from two of my favorite artists right now. Textures weave back and forth to suggest struggles, acceptance, denials, fear, and celebration all at once. A wonderful album. wc_helmets
